Upper Antelope Canyon, sometimes called "Corkscrew" Canyon, is located in a dry (most of the time) sandy wash south of the Page city limits just off Highway 98. It is a 15-minute drive from Page by four-wheel drive vehicle. It is not advisable to travel there during rainy or threatening weather.

If you choose a photography tour, take along snacks and plenty of drinking water, at least one gallon per person during the hot summer months. Hats, sunscreen, sunshades, and comfortable shoes are a must. Once in the Corkscrew you will need a flashlight since natural light is limited in most areas of the canyon and it's hard to see camera settings.

Photographs are best shot with the aid of a tripod. Take along plenty of film and spare batteries for your camera. The best light is at mid-day, but good photos can be taken at other times of the day depending on the month. Plan on long exposures for the best photos. Do not change film or lenses inside the canyon as fine particles of sand drift down from above and can cause problems for your camera equipment.

Lower Antelope Canyon runs north from Highway 98 towards Lake Powell. It is more strenuous since entry and exit requires climbing down and up ladders bolted to the canyon walls. You pay the Navajo concessionaire at the gate when available for the lower canyon. Do not go into the canyon on your own due to the danger of flash flooding.

The Navajo Tribe has restricted access to Lower Antelope and Upper Antelope/Corkscrew Canyon. A fee is required to visit either canyon. Visitors can only go to the upper canyon with a tour guide. Visitor time is limited to two hours in Upper Antelope/Corkscrew Canyon. Lower Antelope Canyon Tours are operated by the guide at the canyon entrance.

The following are the four tour companies in Page that are licensed by the Navajo Tribe, carry insurance and have trained guides to take you to upper Antelope Canyon. Only one of the four companies is licensed for Canyon X, a newly discovered slot canyon near Page on the Navajo Reservation.

Normally, all tour companies charge the same amount for the standard hour and a half tour to Antelope Canyon.

The main difference in tour companies is the tour departure times and tour guides. Some tour companies offer additional tours, including longer, photo tours. Photo tours have varying prices. Refer to the section below for each tour company to see what other tours each offers. Note that Chief Tsosiešs Antelope Slot Canyon Tours does not schedule tours on Sundays.

If your primary consideration is the time of tour departure, find the desired time in the table to the right and then click the name of the tour company at the top of the column showing an "X" for the desired time. This will take you to that company's section where you can get details and make reservations.

Note that the companies do not all define "child" the same; age ranges may differ from one tour company to another.

When you make your selection, please use our reservation form by clicking the "Make ... Tour Reservations ..." buttons in each tour company section. We will process your reservation within 24 hours of receiving it; 48 if sent Friday evening or on the weekend. If you do not receive an answer within 48 hours, check to make sure you entered your email address correctly.

Note: Some tour operators give discounts for senior citizens and for large groups.
